ok..

so lets put things in perspective... i met a double amputee today.. he was in high spirits, watching the Jays game, he lived in the same apartment since 1969, nineteen sixty-nine! his key chain sported a war-amps key tag, that if lost, and dropped into any mailbox, would be returned to the owner, post haste. and here i am connecting the dude to the 'information superhighway' and i didn't even notice; and perhaps wouldn't of even noticed that this gentleman had no legs. is it that i am oblivious to the world around me.. or it could i chock it up to the fact that the dude had some Adidas track pants on.. once he mentioned to me that he was a 'double amputee' i randomly spouted out a story i heard about a para Olympic athlete that was breaking previous 100 meter sprint records with his new bionic legs, you know the kind you seen in one of those si-fi movies where the robots had with a seemingly inverted spring for a knee joint..anyhow, his buddy also noted that the titanium legs he was sporting were just shy of twenty grand, or he may of been exaggerating slightly, because he was corrected immediately -- "actually17 thousand, and these ones are plastic".. hmmm... given that and the numerous unsolved medical mysteries of the world, my seeming mild/medium hallucinations and rant of discontent due to punctuality and whatnot and grumpy antennae radar blips on the screen seem to be stupidly trite and less than understanding.. crap. *sigh.
